Earth Day is April 22 and the United States has been celebrating
and participating for the last 45 years, when it began. Forbes Living reminds readers
about easy home and lifestyle changes to make this year and every day for a
cleaner world.
Clean out closets and drawers and donate the wardrobe items
you don’t wear anymore. If the clothing or accessories are of a higher quality,
try taking them to a consignment shop instead.
Take your lunch to work every day instead of going to a
restaurant or out for fast food. Almost all leftovers are packed in Styrofoam boxes
and fast food is wrapped in non-recycled paper. Bring in last night’s dinner
(as long a it is not fish) in a reusable plastic container.
Recycle electronics. Wipe the memories clean from old smart
phones, digital devices, computers, and laptops and take them to Best Buy to recycle.
Some women’s shelters give recycled smart phones to clients.
Go outside and take a walk. Walk around the block, in a city
park or on the beach. Forbes Living TV encourages people to just go outside and
appreciate nature.
Make Earth Day every day by doing one thing that improves
the quality of the air we breathe, the water we drink or the world we share.
