Forbes Living TV Shares Tips on Advertising an Estate Sale

Whether you’re having an estate sale or a yard sale it’s important that you let people know when and where your sale will take place. Some people have a yard sale a few times a year so that they can get rid of things they don’t need and make a little extra money. Many people have estate sales when someone passes away or if they want to start fresh.

It’s a good idea to clean out closets once in a while and get rid of the things you aren’t using before they become clutter. Forbes Living TV came up with a few tips on advertising an estate sale.

Forbes Living TV and 4 Tips on Promoting an Estate Sale

1. Newspaper Ad-after you have decided on a date and time you should put an ad in the newspaper and online. Most newspapers and community papers have online publications with classified sections. Placing an ad isn’t expensive and it will let people know you have a sale taking place.

2. Community Boards-you want as many people in your community to know you’re having a sale as possible. Community Bulletin boards are a great way to get the work out. Look around your area to see where people put notices and add one of your own.

3. Community Website-many communities also have a community website available for advertisements. Go on the Internet and take a look at what’s available in your area. This is a great way to let people know you are selling furniture.

4. Post It-this will depend on where you live and what the regulations are for that area. Some areas will allow you to post signs letting people know where and what time the estate sale or yard sale is. This will let people in your area know about the sale and find your home. You should use a neon color and a black marker.Make sure you add your address and mention what type of sale it is.

Estate sales are a great way to sell furniture and other household items. Whatever items are left over you can put on consignment and donate. The producers of Forbes Living TV suggest these tips for a successful estate sale.
